“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16, NKJ)
When God sent His Son to earth, He opened the door of salvation to whoever would believe. That means anyone can become a child of His and have everlasting life! Isn’t it good that He didn’t just come to save certain kinds of people? Aren’t you glad He doesn’t have a bunch of rules and conditions for salvation?
Before Jesus came, people had to observe many laws in order to be holy enough to go into God’s temple. They were constantly performing sacrifices to pay for their sins just so they could be around the presence of God. Even then, their sins were only covered up. They were still there. But when Jesus came, He was the final sacrifice. His blood doesn’t just cover our sins; it washes them away! Now, instead of going to the temple to be near God, the Bible says we are the temple, and He chooses to live inside of us!
Today, thank God for His mercy and for extending the gift of salvation to whoever believes in Him. If you’ve never asked Jesus to be the Lord of your life, there’s no better way to start the New Year! Choose Him and choose life and start the year off right!
A Prayer for Today
Heavenly Father, thank You for sending Your Son, Jesus into this earth so that I can be free. Thank You for opening the door to eternal life. I accept the sacrifice Jesus paid so that I can be free. Come into my heart. I confess that You are my Lord and Savior in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Isn’t it good to know that no matter what happened yesterday, no matter what you said, no matter what you did, God’s mercy is new for you today? Mercy is empowering. It frees us to make the right choices and live in a way that is pleasing to God. We have to always remember that God is not condemning us. Romans tells us that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ. God wants to love us and equip us to overcome in this life.
Do you need new mercy today? Receive it by faith. You don’t have to beg God to forgive you. He forgives you the first time you ask, but it’s up to you to receive that forgiveness. Open your heart today and receive His mercy. Let Him wash over you with His peace and joy. Then choose to extend that mercy to others. Remember, you are God’s representative in the earth. As you show His love and character to others, He’ll pour out His blessing upon you and use you in ways you never dreamed!
Here’s 10 Pieces Of Advice Every Woman Needs To Hear:
Your worth is not defined by what others think of you. — Psalm 139:14
You may be trash according to them, but you are priceless to Him. You need to develop tunnel vision to your purpose. Once you develop that, No one can stand in the way of your vision. It’s too important.
Just because everyone is doing it, doesn’t mean it’s right. — Exodus 23:2
Never feel the need to “fit in”. As Christians, we have an obligation to stand out from the rest of the world. When you don’t know what to do it might seem like a good idea to do the same thing everyone else is doing. After all, if everyone else is doing it, It can’t be that bad, right? WRONG!
Tough times are only temporary. –Romans 8:28
Every time it rains, it stops raining. Every time you get hurt, you heal. After darkness there is always light. No matter how difficult the situation is, keep pushing forward in Faith and remind yourself that troubles don’t last always and tough times are only temporary.
Attitude is everything. –Proverbs 23:7
I can’t stress this enough. Your attitude determines the outcome of every situation in our life. You can let something break you or you can let it make you stronger. The choice is yours. “A bad attitude is like a flat tire. If you don’t change it, you’ll never go anywhere.”
Mean Girls aren’t cool. –Ephesians 4:32
A pretty face is nothing if you have an ugly heart. There’s nothing cute about putting others down. Treat others the way you want to be treated.
Respect starts with Self-Respect. –Psalm 106:3
It all starts with you. Respect yourself and others will have to respect you as well. In relationships, people can only treat you the way you allow them to treat you. No, you can’t control the way others act, but you don’t have to tolerate it neither.
The little things are what matters the most. — Hebrews 13:5
Sometimes we pray for material things… and that’s fine, but don’t forget the things which money can’t buy. ( your health, your family, your friends ) Happiness isn’t about getting what you want all the time. It’s about loving what you have and realizing how blessed you are to have it!
When one door closes, another one opens. –Deuteronomy 30:3
…And most of the time, an even better one. God sometimes closes doors because it’s time for us to move forward. And that’s a good thing because we often won’t move unless circumstances force us to. Just know that God will restore everything you lost.
Faith makes things possible, not easy. — James 2:17
…And Faith without works is dead. You’ve got to work hard and pray harder. Remember… anything worth having is worth working for. They’ll be days when you’ll want to give up, Don’t!
Without God you are nothing. –John 15:5
No matter how big you get, never forget where He has brought you from. Be humble. Realize that you are blessed to have the things you have. They are gifts from God. They are not owed to you. Oh and FYI…Humble pie doesn’t taste good at all.
When David wrote Psalm 27, he was going through a tough time. Things weren’t going his way. But he said in effect, “I’m not worried. I’m not upset. I am confident that I will see God’s goodness.” In other words, “This situation I’m in may be rough, but that’s not going to steal my vision. That’s not going to cause me to give up on my dreams. I am confident that this year, I will see God’s favor in a new way.”
That’s what our attitude needs to be today because what you focus on is what you will see. No matter what the medical report says, no matter what your finances look like, no matter how bad that relationship may seem, be confident that you will see His goodness! He is the all-powerful, omniscient, Creator of the universe, and He holds you in the palm of His hand. Nothing is too difficult for Him. Take hold of this truth by faith and focus on His goodness today. Allow His peace to settle in your heart and mind as you move forward in His blessing all the days of your life!
